Insurance with pre existing hernia
Hubby had a hernia op in 2012 and it needs doing again.
On our annual insurance we are covered for cancellation but it won't be covered if hospital treatment is needed. His hospital date with consultant is April 5th. He wants to book a trip away with his kids for July and I just wondered if he took a single trip policy out (which he has to anyway to cover them) would it be covered for medical while away?

Single trip insurance would be exactly same rules as annual policy ie not cover pre-existing condition. Best to ring your insurer (annual) and see how much additional premium would be required (if they will cover it) or alternatively travel uninsured for that condition. JMO
