Thank you. Where would I find out about these? Was hoping to go to American football or ice hockey but seems the season will be finished for them.

I'm there early to mid June, so already been looking. Ice Hockey and NBA are both finished. NFL / College football are Aug/Sept onwards. Orlando Soccer are on a mid-season break.
What area are you staying in as there are teams all over Florida. Closest to Orlando would be the Florida Fire Frogs who play at Osceola County Stadium (ex Astros Spring Training - beautiful stadium), or if you're nearer US27, then Lakeland Tigers might be as near. On the coasts there are multiple, Bradenton Pirates is a nice place to visit. Here's a link to the Florida State League, should give you all the info you'll need by clicking through on the teams in the areas you're interested in. Been to many Minor and Major League games, so any questions, just shout milb/standings/index... od=h2&sid=l123

Hi Northern Dave. Never been to a baseball game before so dont know any of the teams found the Tampa Bay Ray's and they have a game on 12th June. Any advise would be great. We are staying at Highlands Reserve from 9th to 23rd June. I will have a look at the link. If theres one nearer than Tampa that would be good.

You're about 100 yards up the road from me on US27. Easiest to get to is the Lakeland Tigers, an easy 30 min drive down the I4. Free parking and much, much cheaper than the Rays.
No need to buy tickets in advance. Websites will start updating end of March with details of special offers on ($1 hot dogs, reduced admission etc) as right now it's Major League Spring Training.

Thank you, that sounds much easier than travelling over to Tampa. Definitely going to look into this, and cheaper sounds good too lol

We've booked to see an afternoon game at Tampa Bay Rays, got the tickets already for 16th June and treating ourselves to a night in a hotel near by as there is a free trolley which will take you to the game. We're then combining it with a trip to Busch gardens the next day, whilst we're down there. We've got a car, so no problem with the journey and never been to a baseball game before, so really looking forward to the atmosphere. Plus with us staying close by, we can have a few beers and eat dinner in St Pete's afterwards and not worry about driving back to the Villa.
