2 nights / 3 days at the Hard Rock Hotel advice ?
We have 2 nights / 3 days at the Hard Rock Hotel during our upcoming stay.
Just wondered if anyone had any advice for the best plan of action.

Take it easy, that my advice. As you have FOLP then you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn as you can easily do everything in the parks over two/three days, including 1/2 a day at VB (late in the day is best we find).

We have done this too but staying at RPR, we buy tickets before we go and use the FLP as much as we can. We go early to the parks, head out in the middle of the heat (usually there august time), rest at the hotel and then head back when things are cooler. At HRH you are very close to the parks, much more so than almost any wdw resort apart from maybe contemporary and beach club/boardwalk so no travel time. Allow some time to explore Citywalk if it is your sort of thing, I prefer Disney Springs but this is a personal choice. Food at Universal is expensive, in the hotel it was even more so than WDW so maybe take some drinks/snacks for the room too. Beyond this I am not sure what to advise, is there something more specific you would like hints and tips for?

Not sure what you mean? Do you mean VB (Volcano Bay)?
I would hit the parks before doing a water park. The other thing I note is you go in 45 days - we visited the Universal parks late April last year and I was surprised at how early in the evening the parks closed. We had planned to do some evening visits so that's definitely something to look out for. Also, whilst we were there, there was a massive prom night for the local schools - literally hundreds of students dressed up to the nines walking through City Walk to get to the prom - there were cordoned off areas everywhere! So, all in all, although no need to rush because you've got fast passes, I would definitely watch out for closing times and special events taking place! |

I would buy some cheap lanyards off Amazon. Ideally one pp but kids and adults can go two up but not so easily.
With FOLP you don't want to keep getting tickets out each time. Take two pairs minimum of shoes. Designate one part of one day a wet day. Go do the wet rides, more than once! Then go home and change as you will be soaking. Suggest taking nothing with you other than clothes you don't mind smelling, your room key and ticket. No electronics. Get it fully out of the kids system as otherwise they will wish to do it on another day with your last pair of dry shoes! Mine tend to do both 4 or 5 times. Round and round. I do feel guilty waltzing past people in the non Folp queue for the third time. Edited at 02:44 PM. |

Arrive and check in as early as you can on the 1st day to take full advantage of FOLP. They will look after your luggage up until your room is ready.
Find out which rides you get early entry to and do this. We got on the new Hong Kong ride and avoided the queues. |

Balanced against the take it easy point if you do want to max the time you can activate your express passes early at the hotel and be in the park for opening if you so desire, room will typically not be ready till much later but the express pass is good before that. And obviously you still need to buy park tickets
