We had 2 years of points to use and so stayed in an AKL 2 bed with family for a week and then moved by ourselves to a Polynesian Lake / Castle view room for 2 weeks.
I dread to think what that would have cost us in $$$$!

I honestly feel every trip is amazing value. Last year we did 3 weeks all in 2 bedrooms - 1 week at CCV, 1 week at BCV and the last week at BLT in a theme park view room. The last few trips we’ve taken my parents with us and it’s amazing to be able to give them free accommodation and try and pay them back for all the amazing Disney trips they took me and my brothers and sister on whilst we were growing up. We’d never be able to do this onsite without DVC

Boardwalk standard view studio. The points are as low as OKW but we are right in the middle of everything. We’ve tried other resorts but for the points you can’t beat the standard view. Love being in the hotel and being able to walk to two parks.

Our first DVC stay was the best value. A combination of BLT and SSR. I checked the like for like cash value and we saved around £8000 when working it all out!
I say 'saved' but of course we won't really know the true amount we've saved until nearer the end of the contract. Edited at 10:37 AM. |

I’m not sure what has been best value but we have owned since 2012 and had some great times.
Last year we did a 2 bedroom at SSR then moved to a 2 bedroom at BLT for 6 nights, the location and space were great. Our first year we stayed for 21 nights trying out different resorts including AKL, Boardwalk villas and SSR. The following year we managed beachclub villas, vero beach and SSR. We still need to try out wilderness lodge, poly and VGF😊. I can’t imagine spending the money to try out these different locations without DVC😊

For us it was definitely Aulani 6 nights after our Alaskan DCL cruise. Prices per night on the Island are hefty. We couldn't have done that bucket list trip together without that.
We only have a small 120 point contract but we have eked holidays out of it balancing two trips a year using the package and value resort or free dining for the first hols then upgrading to DVC AP and using points for the second. Or we have rented a few points on occasion. The other was our first stay at the Poly for four nights pre cruise one year. It had been the most horrendous year at work and this had always been the bucket list hotel for my husband and I. It was after all the work on the new quiet pool and it didn't dissapoint. I remember finally unwinding and watching the famous one legged duck in the pool thinking this was a really good investment!
