After all the stress and gruelling treatment you’ve had over this past year you need to find a way of relaxing ! Please follow through with the counselling we’ve all been discussing. Xx
No I haven't taken this too seriously and I totally understand the praising of Essexsues granddaughter. No its no competition. Cancer is horrendous whoever it touches.
At one point I was told I had about 2 months to live... sorry if anyone thought that was feeling sorry for myself.

But to say... about Divas etc... why was that necessary ? . Sadly, it has put me off posting again... I hope it does not put others off too.

My reply to Sue re her granddaughter has absolutely no connection to you one iota, it stems back to a situation Sue and I laughed at a couple of years ago when lightening the load on her granddaughter. It’s unfortunate you deem all comments on this thread are relevant to you, they’re not.

Why close this thread? It's likely helpful to many others currently dealing with cancer, they too can vent their feelings and may find the suggested counselling a help to instil the self esteem some cancer patients lose.

It's a shame when people ask for possible helpful threads to be closed.

Whilst radiotherapy has come on leaps and bounds since my 2000 treatment, I don't know if one still encounters heavy burns thereafter. Irrespective of my not using soap and trying not to get too much water on the area, my burns were awful, the whole of my underarm was a mass of peeling, burnt, very sore, skin. My sister, trained in sports injury massage and aromatherapy, knocked up a natural potion that instantly stopped the burn and soreness, the relief was profound and I'm sure aided a faster recovery. An aromatherapy website may show mix requirements - sis used a base, non-perfumed, cream, added peppermint and witch-hazel oils. Knocked spots off the hospital provided cream, which sadly did nothing to ease the pain.

Ouch. Cancer treatments can be brutal, obviously necessary to kill the beast. My neighbour had very few problems with radiotherapy but her “lumpectomy” left her with terrible bruising for months, really uncomfortable.

I think maybe it's less brutal now Chris but well done to your sister, sounds amazing.
The side effects for Proton Beam Therapy are very minor, as is the peripheral damage. I live for the day the new facilities are available in the UK.

Totally agree Sue. Sadly, that looks a long way off and if anything we are going backwards.
