We are a family of five and in the past have stayed in a villa off site, or a two bed in OKW. The two bed in OKW is more expensive than the one bed, but has tonnes of space for five people.

Presumably they leave sheets then? Or sleeping bags as carry on?!

My friend has a family of 5 and they stayed in an AOA suite which has the separate bedroom with its own en-suite, then there is a pull out sofa bed and a pull down Murphy bed plus another bathroom.

They loved it and the 2 bathrooms meant far less fighting over showering/toilet needs. And there is a little sink and microwave area too.

They left a note for Mousekeeping to ask that they leave the beds down rather than them being put back.

Just a thought. OKW is lovely but their quick service is a joke. So it depends on where/what you are planning to eat. It is the reason we always choose POR but we are a family of 4.

Following this thread with interest as we are a family of 5, three girls being 20,14,11... we are also planning a 2020 return to celebrate big birthdays and wedding anniversary! Stayed at POR previously, just wondering about a little more space now as our girls are older and DDP ( assuming it’s still available)

Thanks again everyone. In reality, now our boys are older there is less time we will want to be awake when they are not. When they were younger it was good to have somewhere else to sit to have a drink in the evening. Plus of course we will be spending many evenings in the parks. Really wondering whether fewer days on site but then some offsite time might be the perfect balance for us. I should add we are going to Florida this summer, staying in a villa but not doing Disney. We love the weather and there is so much to do outside the parks, though we will probably make a trip to Disney Springs and possibly Boardwalk too.

There is bedding left for you. Our three girls slept on them when they were 7, 10 and 12 and then again in a similar arrangement at Kidani when they were 9, 12 and 14 and had no complaints about the comfort.

For us a one bed villa with free DDP was ideal. Going by what happened last year, if there is free dining for next year, the dvc resorts won't be available to book until 11 months out and there was very little availability. We are planning on going in August 2020 so that leaves us with the dilemma of whether to book a room to get free dining and hope OKW becomes available later on, or whether to book 2 rooms and hope they are at least nearby or whether to just wait and book OKW with the free nights offer if that then comes out once free dining has finished.

Hi All
Reading this thread with interest too as we are planning a return trip in October 2020 (half term plus one other week). Just wondered if free dining is available in October with the DVC resorts or is it finished by then?

We are really not sure what to do, whether to rent points via a broker (which means we would have to pay for the full dining no free options) or go for OKW direct with Disney but am worried now there won't be any 'free dining' available in October so that puts us back to POR again potentially. We really like POR but have stayed there the last 3 times so would like to try somewhere different, even though we love getting the boat to Disney Springs in the evening.

Many thanks
Lisa

We stayed in a one bed at OKW in October last year. Three kids and it was brilliant. The first days I did put the beds back but in the end we just left them down. Loads of room and u can acess the baloncy from the main sleeping room. Was wonderful have a washer and dryer as well as a full kitchen (not that I actually made any food). We got a big order of drinks, bread etc from Fairytale shopper delivered
