Backing up photos while away

I think I'm looking for a device that doesn't actually exist, but what I want to have is a cheapish laptop/tablet where I can back up my photos while on holiday, do a bit of processing and then post them online.
I realise I could get a laptop but they are too expensive to get just specifically for this one use. In the past I've transferred a few photos via Wifi to my phone but this takes ages and will use the space up on my phone.
Any ideas?

There are lots of photo processing sites, if they have an app you could upload the pictures, etc. Eg. Photobox

You can auto backup photos to clouds- Dropbox, OneDrive, Google photos, icloud, Amazon then transfer then to a photo editing website

No hardware beyond your phone required.

Trickier if you are using a camera, unless it has built in wifi

sorry, i see you are, see if you can get a cable from camera to your phone rather than WiFi.

If you have an sd card, is the an SD card reader for your phone... Don't know if there is such a thing.

a couple of options. if its purely for backup purposes then something like the ravpower filehub plus - stick your sd card in, and back it up to a usb stick or portable hard disk:

amazon/RAVPower-Wi...nguag e=en_GB

or the newer version of it (£10 more expensive though)

amazon/RAVPower-Wi...nguag e=en_GB

or if you already have a tablet/phone, something like a USB OTG card reader
amazon/KiWiBiRD-Ad...nguag e=en_GB

there are usb-c ones available too if you have a more recent tablet/phone. iphones/ipads, you need the "camera connection kit" dongle. once copied to the tablet/phone, you can upload them to dropbox/onedrive/google photos/wherever. you can also get apps for the device to do various bits of processing

I have a verbatim LINK this creates its own wifi signal and you can plug in SD card's or USB. It also acts as a battery bank.
Alterntively pick up an Amazon fire and use the microsd slot, if you camera can use those.

My camera takes normal SD cards, I like the idea of the SD card reader that goes into a tablet. Cheers everyone

Bargain
I think I'm being thick though, does that just act as a SD card reader then I have to transfer the files to a second device to store them?
I mean, there's no actual storage in that device?

that is correct. but its so much more than a card reader...

you can plug in a usb drive and copy files from sd to that
you can use the fiehub to make files available over wifi to your device(s) - so for example if you have a bunch of movies stored on a USB stick, you could access them on your phone without actually having to plug it in
you can use it as a portable router or battery pack too

this video shows some of its features...

I used a Rav Power hub to transfer SD card onto a USB drive. Worked a treat.
