I’m in Florida at Universal in early August this year (95 days), but only for 5 nights and wouldn’t have time to get over to WDW as it’s going to be an action packed 4 days-( 2 Universal Parks, Seaworld and the Universal and Seaworld water parks to visit ), we are then going to Gulf Coast, then on a cruise from Miami, before driving back from Miami for a last night at Hard Rock on 16/8.

You’ve got some lovely trips booked. Christmas at Disney will be amazing, it’s my dream to do it one day but we’re waiting until the LO gets a bit older so she can fully appreciate it. I really like the look of the Riviera units too, make sure you let us know your thoughts when you get back. Our DVC guy (well now friend) has actually offered to give us a tour of them when we go so I’m really looking forward to that. I’m with you though, not a huge fan of location etc but I think they’ve done an excellent job decor wise.

We’re staying at SSR for a few nights, would have loved to have got a refurbished room but it’s just not going to happen. Heard mixed reviews on the state of the rooms at the moment so I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that our one is ok! 🤞🏼

Technically yes, as you are supposed to show your actual membership card to gain access unless you bought resale prior to 4th April 2016. Although there is anecdotal evidence that you could still gain access without showing your membership card.

From the DVC website which lists Top of the World Lounge access as a member extra.

To receive any Membership Extras, purchasers must present a valid Disney Vacation Club Membership Card along with a corresponding valid photo ID. Effective February 25, 2018, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 75 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. Disney and Concierge Collections options are not available for ownership interests not purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. after March 21, 2011, and, effective April 4, 2016, Members who have not purchased an ownership interest directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. will not have access to Membership Extras.
