Cancelling one night- can I rent points out?

Hi guys,
We are considering cancelling our night on 29th August at AKL. They are 2019/20 points.
Will they go into holding and if they do an I able to rent them out.
If they go back into my use year can I bank them?
If they go back into use year can I rent them?
I know we are probs at 30 day mark now. TIA

Yes in holding- Try and rent the night out first (may as well you could have a lot of takers then just change the guest details) and if that fails, cancel it- then you can make reserrvations 60 days before check in only- but the advantage is you just have 1 night so you should find something- so you could then try just offering the points saying you will try and make a reservation (but only 60 days max hence) or you may want to actually book a night now 60 days away (or depending on when your use year is which is when they must be used by) if you can find a really popular date- say a Crescent Lake resort over food and wine, one over Xmas/ NY etc. which will then rent easier.

Thanks for your answer. I phoned and spoke to member services. The lovely lady I spoke to managed to put the points back to my use year rather than holding so I can actually bank them in Jan. I'm up for renting them though as we've added an extra night in Miami on our way home (relatives there now and they are having a ball !).
