Mobile What's the best deal you've ever had?

Ours was in 2014, £2160, direct flight from Manchester and 11 days at Disneys Caribbean Beach in the Easter school holidays. 2 adults and 1 child aged 9. Could have had AKL for £400 more but couldn't quite stretch as I was actually looking for the following year. We booked about 6 weeks prior to going.

Last year was our best deal in terms of whole package...3 weeks at CBR preffered room with free QSDP for 2 adults and 3 children 5, 8, 11 it was around £7200. Will never see that price again.

We only started going in 2018nso after the £ plummeted lol

Does nobody remember flights for around £79 with the old Travel City Direct back in the late 90's. Ho-Jo on the 192 for around £30 a night.

I do. My daughter worked for the old TCD. We got some great bargains.

I used to fly for about £80 when I worked for an airline - that was a fantastic perk!

We remember sitting watching Teletext scrolling round watching for bargains. Everything done over the phone of course but all the TCD staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

I recall they had offices in Blackpool and Swansea. Maybe even in Crawley or was that after VH took them over?

TCD trading name now disappeared though In the early days of VH ownership you could get better deals through TCD than VH

You must have been richer than us Mick - we were staying in the £20 a night motels!

Teletext was where we picked up our bargains, or Lunn Poly's window.

I think our cheapest flights were £75 in the late 90s probably.

I bet you travelled Sunshine First on the upper deck of the TCD Jumbo though

We did stay at the Econolodge Hawaiian at the top of North Lake Wilson as well though at maybe £28 a night. Before it burned down and they built a Walmart there.

We paid £650pp for Virgin PE from Manchester in November 2017, for 5 adults. We booked the first day the flights were released, via a third party. Total bargain!

We flew WT with BA to LAX for 3 weeks in 2017. For 4 of us with a Ford Edge SUV it cost about £2200.
