Flight of Passage with one leg
We're going to AK for after hours in May, and I quite fancy giving FOP a try, but I'm wondering about the logistics of riding it now I only have one leg (above knee amputee)
After looking at several videos, the 'clamp' that hold the legs will obviously only hold my right leg, would there be any issue with my only having a small stump on the left side given that I'd also be held in front, side and back too? /Chris. |

Hi didn’t want to read and run. Not sure really. There will be a test seat you can try and the CMs will be able to give you information.
Hopefully someone will be able to help on here.

From a practical point of view, the restraint that goes around your middle would hold you in on its own. So yes, you would be fine. I guess the question is whether they will allow you on.
My colleague's husband has had a knee replacement and can't bend his knee fully, and he couldn't go on as they couldn't get the leg restraint on him but I think that may be different as he couldn't sit up against the front pad either due to his knee, whereas you will be able to. I wonder if you could email Disney and ask - presumably they have a standard answer for amputee's as they must have come across this before. I hope you do manage to ride it, as it's a great ride

I can't see why it would be an issue, to be honest I don't understand why they need the leg clamps anyway , its not as if the ride throws you around

Based on Disney’s previous experience with Soarin’ I’d guess it’s to stop people getting off during the ride.
