Reports of the fire spreading to one of the towers, if that is true then it will be impossible to save it. Heartbreaking. Just heartbroken tonight.

Simply heartbreaking to watch a building with such historical importance be lost tonight.
It’s spiritual significance is huge and hopefully the prayers of everyone will allow just a piece of hope left by tomorrow morning.

Unconfirmed report that the ‘structure’ of the cathedral has been saved.

The French news programmes have reported that the structure has been saved - the emphasis is on keeping the metal structures cool enough to not collaspe. The firemen are also trying to save as much of the work of arts as possible under difficult circumstances. Suggestions to use aerial water drops were said to be impractical and dangerous - it could do more harm than good.
Such a terrible loss of history even if it is rebuilt

Reports on sky news that one firefighter has been seriously injured - absolutely terrifying job, I’m in awe of people that do these jobs.
Hope the reports that the structure has been saved are correct and hope there are no further injuries.
