to me, it seems like it's something ridiculously easy to do, no matter how little time you spend in your accommodation
House?

No we stay in hotels lol and I wouldn’t be leaving my washing in a hotel laundry room whilst spending the day in the park... I do know how to do washing thanks! At home, no problem at all! But not on holiday it’s not for us!

Wow. I honestly have never even thought of doing the washing while on holiday. We are full days at the parks type of people though, so wouldn't have the time. Just wash it as soon as we get back, never had a problem with that!

I think it's easier in a villa and villa people tend to spend more pool time anyway than hotel stayers and it's a little easier but only a little . I've done the load machine , cocktail, move to dryer , another cocktail and empty the dryer routine , it's what the app is for and makes it painless.

We’ve just done 3 weeks in a villa and only packed 5 days worth of clothes for each person, me DH and 13 and 8 yr old girls.

We bought lots of new stuff anyway (which we planned to do)

But so easy to put the washer on at night and then move to the drier first thing whilst everyone had breakfast / showers.

We don’t have a tumble drier at home so it was a real luxury.

Our villa also had a clothes horse available for the things that couldn’t go in the drier

We’re doing a week all inclusive in aug.

Won’t do any washing there, will just bring it home and do it when we get back

I always do our washing on holiday, usually every 3 days. In a villa it’s so easy I don’t know why people wouldn’t. I don’t do it to save space (serial over packer here!) but the thought of coming home with 3 weeks worth of washing for 4 people is seriously depressing!
In fact this year as we’re California road tripping I’m having concerns already about getting everything washed. I’m that sad I’ve even earmarked each place we’re staying that has our own washer/dryer and thankfully it’s every 3-5 days. Phew! 😂

I don't like going home with a suitcase of dirty washing - the last thing I want to do after that flight home is a load of washing! Last year I did 2 washes at POFQ - one halfway through the trip and the other the evening before I came home. It was so easy - I put everything in the machine, had a dip in the pool for an hour then took it out of the machine. I then put it in a drier, had another dip in the pool, took it out of the machine then back to my room. Then when I got home the only washing I had was what I wore on my last day.

I do washing for Dd and I when we get home it keeps me awake til nearly bedtime, otherwise I’d be fast asleep after the flight.

I quite like doing it the day we get home. It stops me from sitting down and dozing off because I’ve got things to do and keeps me a little bit active.

Also, being on holiday is my time off of doing the housework and cooking and laundry so I take full advantage of that.
