I’ve had no paperwork for any of mine and still received a very unexpected 5k in total from 3 firms... I think that in the past year firms are more willing to pay up, especially now the end is near...

Doowop... I'm with Mark and Diane, you'll be reet hin. We didn't even know if hubs had a loan, let alone PPI. He had absolutely nowt, zip, nada paperwork, even when Barclays wrote to say he had a loan ending NOWN that still meant nowt, short term memory eh After we signed the paperwork for Reclaim, Barclays asked for more info and Reclaim sent it out, they'd completed all hubs told them at application, he did no more than advise his company had excellent sickness cover, owt else he put 'don't know or N/A', signed and returned - letter arrived from Barclays agreeing to his claim for a loan he'd had for two years 1999 to 2001 (paid off). Next came the cheque/explanatory letter.

Can't remember how the figures work but I noted a £650 compensation payment plus premiums and interest at 8%, all in all that came to £1106.

Anyone know if you can put in another claim? I went through reclaim who said I didn't have any ppi but I'm pretty sure I did as when I banked with Bank of Scotland I had a bank account, credit card and mortgage with them and was so naive I'd have agreed to whatever they telling me. At one point a had to give up work through ill health and claim mortgage relief, and I went overdrawn (and paid charges) every month as they took my mortgage out before the benefit came in despite getting it paid before the mortgage was due, due to it having to do an 'internal transfer' from Edinburgh to Newcastle branches -taking 5 working days! I think I was the only non business customer in the Newcastle branch, which is what they said when I asked how they knew me as soon as I walked in the door.
Unfortunately this was in the 90's and I've got no paperwork. Should I just call it a day?

Di, as you set the ball rolling on this for so many Dibbers, may I ask if you've online filed R40 (tax deducted from savings and investments) against monies paid the taxman on your behalf? Initially Reclaim completed the form for me to print/post to IR, I noted an option to file online and copied the 3 lines Reclaim completed. Basic rate taxpayers can earn £1,000/year in savings interest before paying tax

Can anyone recommend a good firm to apply to? My husband passed away 4 years ago and I have been told I can put a claim in for any my husband might of had but need a reputable firm.
Really appreciate any advice!

No, go to ReclaimPPI and select Bank of Scotland and any others you believe may apply for PPI, ask for paperwork to be mailed out for signature vs print off - then sit back and let them go to work on it for you SM - personally I wouldn't let this one go. Good luck hin

Use the company this thread is about ReclaimPPI, I've yet to read of one Dibber who's been unhappy with their service. Get a lick on tho as PPI claims end August end, good luck hin

Thank you I will give it a go! So many people seem to get something back. I thought I needed to know about bank card from years back but no! Fingers crossed, a little something would be good for me and the kiddies 🤞

Is this for self-claim or via ReclaimPPI/other recovery company? At a guess, if via self-claim then I'd try via ReclaimPPI especially now it's so close to claim end. Good luck if you do try Reclaim SG
