Best way to take money/pay?
Just wondering what's the best way to pay?
Is there a particular prepaid card that i should get that doesn't have many issues/declines? Or is it best to take two different prepaid cards just in case? Ta. |

Hi and welcome to theDibb!
I usually just use a credit card (AMEX), with an additional card that can be kept locked up as a spare (just in case). And then a small amount of cash as well but I tend to just keep that for tips. I like the credit card cause you can usually get one with good rewards tie in. |

Always cash for the likes of restaurants, gas and supermarket shopping. Keep it in the villa safe and always within our travel insurance limits. Top it up at the Wawa gas station ATM who don't charge.
Credit card for larger purchases such as Macy's and Bath & Body Works. Mick

In my view the best way to spend is using a credit card such as the Halifax Clarity which offers no fees and you get the bets inter-bank exchange rate.
Why spend your own money as cash or on a pre-paid card when you can spend someone else and pay it later when you get home. |

My plan is to link the credit card to our Magic bands (no DDP) and take our debit cards as back up. We're taking a purse of low denomination cash for tips etc and then about $200 for taxi's (if need be).
That said, this is my first trip so happy to be advised differently! |

The responses to "Best way …." will be what individual Dibbers usually do - and they are all appropriate and all have pros and cons.
