I think that may be stretching it a bit on the suitcases but found this review.

Thanks, that’s helpful.

There are only 4 of us so would have some space in the back but we may end up with airport transfers for some of the party in order to get a good price on car hire!

Going way back my friend and I hired a car at LAX, got upgraded (for free) to a Mazda MX5 which had zero luggage space so we used a transfer for me and the bags and my friend drove the car to and from the airport.

I just feel we end up having to pay for a bigger car just for two journeys! The two best deals I’ve come across are with Hertz and for cars that may be too small for all our luggage.

I think it’s really sensible to get the cheaper smaller car. If you’re flying VA you could also drop the bags at DS for the return.

Didn’t think of that! That would solve a lot of problems on the return with no DME as an option.

We might get away with cases on the back seat etc on the way but will have another couple of cases on the return.

You will likely be with Hertz I think who often do the Jag XF for cheaper? Costco car hire has them on. That has a bigger boot.

Edit I looked through earlier posts now and saw you are with Hertz. Maybe try to change for the Jag?

The H4 was the only category they had at that price but I’m going to keep checking between now and May for something better or cheaper.

Just quoting a couple of these posts for reference. Not sure if it means anything but my Costco booking has now shown on my credit card but as Hertz UK. I tried searching the Hertz site using my reference but nothing coming up but I wonder if I contacted them would they link it to my Gold account?

Yeah that's the same for me as well. I was wondering if it would allow for something like that but I think when I checked the website it said you could only link to Gold at the location if you booked without that link.
