Virgin Upper class tax

Morning

Does anyone know the tax amount for upgrading each leg to upper class from PE with Virgin?

Thanks

Outgoing - PE=£362.27 / UC=£457.27 (£95)
Incoming - PE=$274.70 / UC=$724.70 ($450 = £327ish)

PE return is £486 in tax
UC return is £676 in tax

We paid around £600 each tax on UC reward flights, so should be significantly less than that.

Thank you. Are these the same if you're already in the PE cabin via cash fares?

I believe so. Along with the appropriate amount of points to upgrade the cabin or an upgrade voucher through the credit card.

The TAX is exactly the same in PE and Upper its the extra Virgin charges that you have to pay

its very convenient for Virgin if we all call it tax - so they can hide their charges -but we must not be lazy and let Virgin and BA get away with this

I just upgraded my seat from Econ to PE which combined with an upgrade voucher gives me UC. I only did it for the outbound leg and it cost me 10k points plus £86 - I was very happy with that.

Yep. The TAX is the same in both PE and Upper - it's the carrier imposed fees [what was once the fuel surcharge] that puts the bill through the roof. When BA abolished fuel surcharges (and also imposed one called a carrier imposed charge, that is pretty much exactly the same amount as the old fuel surcharge), Virgin had to follow suit.

Never let it be said that Virgin & BA's competition looks like collusion! This would be illegal - but you can always guarantee Virgin sale dates & fares will match anything BA offer & vice-versa.
