Las Vegas hotels with teens and very short stay

Hi everyone.

We are (hopefully) going on a 3 week road trip next July and will be doing one night in Vegas at the beginning and another night at the end of our trip.

As we don’t have much time in Vegas, can anyone recommend hotels that are in a good location and will appeal to boys aged 16 and 14. This is our first time there. I’ve read through some other posts but am finding it a bit overwhelming!

Thank you 😊

With a 1 night stay, I personally wouldn't be too worried about appeal of the hotel itself since you won't have much time to use any of their amenities and will probably be out looking at the lights.

Having said that, I would choose anywhere that's in budget on the main strip. This stretches from Mandalay Bay at the southern end to Wynn/Encore at the north. My personal favourite is Vdara since it's a smoke free hotel with no casino attached, but great mid-strip location - joined to Bellagio by a covered walkway.

If you'd like a good pool, I would look at either MGM (Grand or Signature, depending on preference) or Mirage. Maybe Flamingo, but I think the good pool there is adults only now.

Depends what you want to do in Vegas , some pools are like day clubs at the weekend so no good if have teens who want to swim for example but if you’ll be too busy exploring the Strip that may not matter.

For kids their age, I too would pick Delano, Mandalay, or our favourite Signature at MGM grand or MGM grand. Delano is attached to Mandalay but more more apartment like and same with Signature which is attached to MGM grand. I like the signature as you get to use the huge pool complex at the mgm which is great for kids/ teens. You also are across from Top Golf which is fun and the rooms we have had look straight into it which is nice at night 😊 You can also use the wave pool at Mandalay bay if you stay at Delano in the same way. They have a brilliant pool complex too

Given you are doing 2 separate stays I’d be tempted do do one at the bottom end Mandalay/Luxor area and one further up Venetian area and cover the 2 halves of the strip separately.

That’s exactly what I would do.

My teens spent almost no time at the pool despite quite long stays but their favourite pools were Mandalay and MGM (though we stayed at the Signature).

I would have thought that the sights and sounds of the Strip would be more exciting than pool time for such a short stay but my teens may not be the same as yours

I would say the New York as it has arcades and a coaster. It's also close to Luxor, Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand. They all have their own offerings which will be more than enough to occupy any teenager.

We stayed at Tahiti Village for the last night of our road trip in 2019. Its really close to the airport so handy for heading home and it could suit teens as it has a great pool with a lazy river and lots of jacuzzis and has a Dennys attached. We had a huge suite with an amazingly comfortable bed - just what we needed after hours in the car and it was easy to get a Lyft to the strip for one last mooch.

I'd also say the New York New York hotel. In the centre of the action with the coaster and plenty eating choices without walking far.
The MGM pool is lovely but if you are only there for one night you might not find time to use it.
