Yet another update on Mason

On the TV section there is a thread on Strickly Amy, Crohn’s and me. There are a few people on here who suffer with IBD or have children who do, they are an inspiration for me !
So many wonderful Dibb members have sent so much love to Mason its amazing and I could never thank you all enough 🥰
Mason has been back to school for a whole week and full time! After missing 10 months of school he has settled in brilliantly 🥳
He has his next infusion on the 24th September and he is still on Azathioprine daily. These medications are definitely working now, he is so much better, the pain is better, the leaking now rarely happens, toilet trips have reduced, his lips swell a bit in the mornings but nothing like they were, he has a lot more energy… its amazing!

He doesn’t mix well and prefers to keep quietly to himself (his best friend at school is the same). However we have a few very confident children who play out on our street and he has been playing out with them, this has been amazing for his confidence. Mason can only play with the light balls, not proper footballs and the children are fine with that, they don’t even bat an eyelid as his quirky ways. He knows when he has had enough and comes in to rest, its brilliant 🤩
Some days are better than others but overall he is doing amazingly and we are so proud of him 🥰
He still can’t have anything on his stomach but we now know what clothing works and doesn’t, we are still on a learning curve with everything but we are getting there 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thanks for the update. Great news and you can see that he's coming along great, it's lovely to get them back into the routine of school and mixing with others. He's one strong little man ❤

Great to hear, hopefully the infusions will continue to help him. X you have all been theough such a tough time this last year with his diagnosis and treatments etc, its bad enough dealing with a chronically poorly person let alone during the pandemic. X hopefully with Mason at school you can look to have a few hours to yourself to recharge the batteries! X
