Spectrolee - pre-travel day - The Fingers Crossed Trip

A day before we fly and we're still having to keep our fingers crossed - this time for Negative LFTs

Early start today - up and ready for our supervised LFTs with DocHQ at 7am (I was awake at 5:30am)

We were all downstairs at 6:30 and I pre-tested everyone with our own kits (anyone else been testing every day like a crazy person? )

The process was really straightforward. We dialled in 5 minutes before the call, then a medical rep joined and asked us to open our kits, then talked us through the process. We showed our passports, completed the tests then she left the call for 10 minutes.

When she came back on the call she asked us to all hold up our negative LFT results to the camera, one at a time (with our face in the camera) and it took a picture.

Woohoo - all negative

She said she would send the certificates straight away, and was happy to wait on the call until we confirmed we had the emails.

Then we heard from my sister that they all passed their tests too

Dropped Joni off at school, Gary went to work, and then I headed round to my parents to make sure they got logged in ok to do their tests, and print our certificates.

Their practitioner was a lot more thorough than ours, checking passport numbers etc. Negative results from them too!

So glad that that we can now get properly excited for our trip.

The rest of the day was spent finishing up the last of the packing, and I finally got my nails done (and my eyebrows and tache threaded lol!)

After Joni got home we grabbed some dinner from Five Guys with Isabel and Davie and headed to the airport.
We have paid for parking from 24 March - 14 April, total price £96.99, but I signed up for airport emails and got a discount, reducing this to £92.14

The building excitement resulted in Joni zonking out at 6pm on the way to the airport

and Ed was twirling around after school and collided with a lamppost- eek!

We then headed over to the Holiday Inn Express where we are all staying tonight. We don't live far from the airport, but with the constant roadworks etc at the moment on the M8 we thought this would be a less stressful start to the holiday. Think I mentioned in the pre-trippy, but it was only £142.47 for all 8 of us and that includes breakfast.

The family room is a bit on the small side, but perfect for what we need.

There's an ironing board, iron and hairdryer provided.

We headed down to the bar to all have a wee drink together.

Joni was flagging again, so we headed to bed at 9pm

The DocHQ process was really simple, although we all had slightly different experiences - some confirmed our passport numbers/ DOBs etc, while others didn’t.
The certificates were all sent while we were on the call (the passport numbers were all on there - I have double checked these, and all were correct)

You did the right thing booking the hotel. Those M8 works are a nightmare just now. I have to drop in hillington every day for work and the travel time is so unpredictable. X
