Mobile Gallbladder removed - recovery time

I had my gallbladder removed nearly 4 weeks ago. I'm still a bit sore especially the area at my stomach (top incision).

I go on holiday in just over 2 weeks and now starting to worry I won't be able to enjoy it.

I know everyone is different when healing but should I still be sore.

Have you checked the incision is not infected?

It looks at though it's healing fine, the incision on my side is still bruised so I've just presumed that it's bruised inside too.

Think I'll make an appointment with doctors and get them to check as don't want to go away and still be sore.

Mine took a week. I’d get it checked they advise a 1-2 week recovery as I recall.

Hope you feel better soon.

I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about and I've just been unlucky with my recovery time.

I've to doctors next week to get checked out.

My stomach has been really itchy all day.

I went back to work after 4 weeks as I’d have felt a fraud staying at home any longer than that but once back at work, it took it out of me! I’d say it was another 2 weeks before I felt fully fit.

Took me two weeks before going back to work but it was still a bit sore - I think around 6 weeks before I stopped feeling the scars every day.

Update - went to doctors and got bloods taken to test for infection. No infection but got antibiotics anyway as a precaution.

Still getting pain at my top incision, it's a jaggy pain and sometimes feels hot inside.

Going on holiday next weekend (Hopefully if Thomas cook don't go bust) but don't want to go feeling like this.

Have also been to doctors on call as had pain in my side they thought I'd pulled a stitch inside and possibly pain at top incision is acid?

I don't feel as though I'm getting better and no-one can give me a straight answer on what's causing pain.

Any ideas on what I should do next.
