Mobile Taking a child car seat

We will need to take a car seat with us this year. What does everyone wrap theirs in for the flight?

We take mifolds, they are innovative car seats that don't boost, but keeps the seat belt in the correct position. They are tiny and mean we don't need to take huge seats.

We have large laundry bags that tie up at the top.We find these work really well as we can hang them from pushchair whilst traipsing trough airport.
My dad found them on Amazon

WE just used a car seat bag from Amazon, wrapped the chair in bubble wrap. It was useful because on the way home we stuck all the MNSSHP candy and a large bottle of cheese puffs in with the car seat Going to do the same this year as I want to bring some bedding back with us so will put in the car seat

We use a car seat bag then at the airport Virgin have some sealed plastic bags to keep them waterproof. American child seats can be a bit of a pain as you find yourself resetting them and when we picked one up once they were all just thrown in a pile at the car hire and not very clean.

That sounds a good idea to put excess (non valuable items )in there

We just use cling film - seems to work OK.

Last year we had the Trunki convertible backpack car seat, which has a zipped storage compartment which was handy for putting stuff in.

I would advise not getting one from the hire car company . They gave us a baby seat for our 10 year old and refused to change it saying that is all that was available . We only had it to drive to Wal-Mart where we brought a booster for about 20USD and the baby seat went in the boot. We also now put a booster in a suitcase going out now (ours are normally quite empty going out) .

Does anyone know if a 5 year old can legally have a booster seat or do they need a high back chair?
