"No beer for a year challenge"
Been wanting to loose a bit of weight and become a bit more healthy, so thinking of trying the challenge. I'm not a massive drinker but would like to cut down. Has anyone tried and how did you get on?

I rarely drink but find it far easier to tell people I don’t drink. People accept non-drinkers easier than someone who only wants one drink then a brew!
Good luck.

Do you think completely eliminating beer might make it trickier?
OH and I decided to do dry January and just sort of carried it on. We have still had a few drinks at parties etc but not at home and not during the week either. It’s made a huge difference. I was never a huge drinker but OH does like a beer! He’s lost a lot of weight by almost giving it up. If he’d decided to completely abstain, he would have caved in so this has been better

I could give up beer for a year without any problems, so long as you didn't mind me switching to red wine for those 12 months

I love my beer and drink a number of nights a week. Might only be 2 or 4 cans, but I love my beer.
I did 90 days last year without and really enjoyed it. I looked better and felt amazing too. I intend to do another 90 days when we get back from Florida, but for now, I intend to drink lots. |

I’m not a beer drinker but deciding to cut out something for a ‘year’ is a very long time! Perhaps go for a month or so and then see how long you can go without
Good luck

I think that's a great idea and I bet you will feel amazing for doing it.
Another one is to try is cutting out fizzy juice. Even a week off the stuff and I feel better! Good luck! |

If you need to lose weight, I suggest cutting out food altogether.
You'll lose more, and that way you can still have a beer.

Thanks for the encouragement, I will try doing a month at a time and see if I can make it to 12. Hopefully it will improve my psoriasis too.
