2 Weeks in Thailand - Wednesday 20th Feb - Phuket
Today we had incredibly little planned so we didn’t get up for breakfast and just slept in. When we woke up we went and plonked ourselves up by the pool area until we felt hungry enough to have lunch.
This snack bar had been our saviour for lunch, did great toasties, pizzas, burgers etc for very reasonable prices and right on our doorstep. This is a photo of our hotel from the front that we took on our way down to the beach. This was going to be our last opportunity to swim in the sea at this beach and do happy hour at the swim up bar so we wanted to fit both in. We wandered down to the beach but for some reason it was packed, not an empty sun bed in sight, we had a bit of a wander and a bit of a paddle but I couldn’t stay there all afternoon without shade so we decided to head back up to the pool, stay there until after happy hour then head down for a swim in the sea before we changed for dinner. It worked well as I sat under an umbrella and read my book whilst Dave got some sun. We couldn’t miss out on our Mai Tai pineapples so after happy hour we wandered down. The sea was just so beautiful and warm like a bath, we swam and messed about for ages that this was going to be our last time in this beautiful spot. We were covered in sand and salt and my hair was a mess so I nabbed first shower and we got changed. I had bought nice clothes with me but was just too hot most nights so most went back home and my Primark linen trousers got worn a lot! We went to a little restaurant off a side street today and this little girl selling flowers came up. There were games on the tables and we were playing connect four. She played with us for ages and looked fairly upset when the food came and we stopped playing! Quite funny. We got a photie of a tuk tuk Phuket style, the ones in Bangkok are very different. We went for a walk along the beach looking at the stars and ended up stopping off at a restaurant along the beach for a banana split before ending up at the Ska bar. Sorry there wasn’t a lot today but we did more the next day!
