Thank you for reporting back, we are doing LHR(virgin)-JFK-MIA in a few weeks and our connection time has been reduced to 2hrs, so I am a little concerned! - think I shall prepare for the worst.

Were you a Delta connection? if so, did you connect in the same terminal? (we land T4). I have been checking and it looks like we may have to transfer to T2 for our JFK-MIA flight.

Many thanks

Thanks for getting back.

Sounds like you had a 'mare.

What was your route / carrier? Did you have to change terminal?

Thanks again.

Hi we were Edinburgh to jfk flying Delta. We had to change from T4 to T2 via a bus. We ended up having to wait 20 mins before boarding commenced but as I said only due to us landing earlier than schedule and connection flight being delayed.

Glad you made it !
This weekend would be a busy week as not only are the US schools off but also it's the weekend before 4th July so probably one of the busiest weekends in the year for a US hub like JFK., flying home will be a breeze

Omg I'm stressing about this! we are flying indirect for the first time going LHR to JFK to BNA (Nashville). I'm travelling with my parents who I know will be looking to me for guidance on what to do and where to go and its stressing me out. I believe that we need to collect our cases once we've got through immigration but then we check them back in, what I don't understand is where and if this will happen before we move terminals if that's what we have to do.
We are flying virgin and then endeavor air ( operated by Delta). Any advice greatfully received!

Virgin flight LHR-JFK will arrive to T4. DL flight JFK-BNA could depart either T4 or T2. If you have a smartphone, the Delta app is useful for updating on this (Delta can even change the terminal used on the day, so have another quick check on screens after arrival). Process is:

> Get off at T4 and clear immigration
> Collect any checked bags and clear customs
> As you exit customs in T4, drop the checked bags at the Delta counter for the onward connection (there are usually staff there to point you in the right direction, though it’s reasonably clear).
> Reclear security in T4 departures (regardless of whether the onward flight is from T4 or T2).
> If flight to BNA is from T4, you can simply walk to the gate.
> If flight is going from T2, take the airside transfer bus from T4 after security, from the stop near gate B18. T2 is small, on arrival you would be no more than a couple of mins walk from your gate.
> Breathe. It’s not as hard as it sounds

Enjoy.

Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate you explaining it all for me 😊
