Cruising on a lake ?

Has anyone ever cruised on a lake really don't want to go on the ocean for a cruise in case sea was rough crashing waves etc etc silly I know but cant help it but since watching jane McDonald on the cruise last week I think I could do a lake cruise has anyone done one ? would you recommend them and what other lakes would you recommend to go on many thanks

You will have more options/destinations if you include river cruises. Same kind of no motion sensation as a lake cruise I would guess - we�ve done river cruises on the Nile and Yangtze and really enjoyed them.

I have done the Norwegian Fjords a couple of times and it was lovely. The only downside to river cruising is lack of entertainment and activities on board the ship, if you can find a small cruise ship that will go up the rivers, or fjords, that's better option (Fred Olsen ships are small enough and do this, it means you get shows etc in the evening, not just a piano)
