Gammon joint cooked in coke

I only use the full sugar coke as you need the sugar to caramelize. Diet Coke just leaves you the concentrated sweetener which can be quite bitter. I also pop in an onion, a couple of cloves, a peeled chunk of root ginger and a star anise just for a bit of spice.

I think i will do one at Easter! I love ham in coke, and usually add a bit of cinnamon! With some spicy roast spuds.

I wonder if that is what is was? We never have any fizzy pop regardless of diet or full sugar.
The only pop consumed in our house is on the rare occasion I have pink gin & lemonade 😏😏
We all felt sickened after eating the gammon cooked in diet coke 🤢

I did in diet once, it does give it a funny taste. Full sugar cola is fine though.
