I think June is about 50/50, with chances increasing in July and August. Even if there is an autumn and winter resurgence I would hope that a combination of the vaccination programme and increased understanding of covid will mean further drastic restrictions like closing borders won't be necessary.

I'm pretty confident you will be able to go from May 17th. I think the next travel review is due in the states shortly (They review it on a monthly basis) and I expect the borders will be opened and then we will announce the US is on the green list.

Just my opinion though...

BA are already cancelling May flights and MCO are not expecting any UK flights before June.

That’s strange. I have a family member who lives in Australia. Her mother was staying with her before the pandemic hit. Her dad was back home in Germany.

After 6 months of being separated due to closed boarders, her dad flew to Singapore (that’s where he’s originally from) and quarantined there for two weeks, before flying on to Australia and quarantining there for another two weeks.

United have just launched more flights to European countries including Croatia and Athens, from July 8th.

Her mother must be an Australian citizen or resident in that case. Immediate family members (spouse or dependent child) of an Australian resident or citizen can enter Australia. Although in most cases, I would expect they would be a resident themselves anyway.
