We also love DC for a down day. We get there for around 7am, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, go and feed the birds, snorkel, Bob around the lazy river a lot, eat plenty.
We've done seaventure and the shark encounter as add ons, both highly recommended. It works out for us as a great deal as we love Aquatica and the no parking bit means we can pop in there for a couple of hours at no cost when we have a free morning or so. We made a decision a couple of years ago to stop planning. Apart from our DC days and some HHN nights we go with the flow and free parking with DC and our Universal AP passes means we come and go as we like.
