Bozza I think its clear as day that this date means more than previous ones given this time there is a vaccine in play.

Id wager July isnt just another arbitrary date. The COO didnt have to post anything, it could have been done by the official virgin Twitter, I think hes more abreast of the situation than you or I so must have a much higher degree of confidence for July.

Theres always variants etc but surely anyone can see its already a much different world now to the last 14months for U.K. and USA.

We're due to fly into Miami on the 26th July with BA. We're staying in the US for nearly six weeks... first time we've taken the full kids school holidays off. It'll be the holiday of a lifetime, as we've a road trip planned taking in places we've wanted to go to for a while.

I'll be sorting out ESTAs later today.

I find it hard to see the US still being closed off to UK travellers come July purely down to both of our countries advanced vaccination programmes.

I truly believe we'll be flying on the 26th!

We've had countless trips cancelled since March 2020, refunds and e-vouchers for so many things, but I'm super optimistic for July onwards.

Keep the faith, & keep planning 🙏

Completely agree. If you look at Twitter posts from Virgin, a new date for flying comes up every few weeks

I love this - they say a scorned woman can rival the skills of the FBI - but it should actually be a Dibber desperate to get back to Orlando 😂 great detective work there!

Fingers crossed hes right!

This chap will know as much about Biden's intentions to let us in, and the the UK government's ability to promote the US to the green list as you and I do, ie nothing at all.

The first of those events is probably the more significant when it comes to Virgin resuming flights, because if UK citizens can't travel directly to the US, Virgin almost certainly won't ramp up their flight schedule beyond what is happening today.

But, the silver lining to the cloud is that each time airlines push back dates, the more likely they are to actually resume flights because things are improving all the time.

Sooner or later one of these dates will turn out to be THE ONE and, like everyone else, I'm crossing my fingers that this is the one!

Again - I want these flights to start as much as anyone, but this start date doesnt really mean anything at all.
Yep, if I had a $ for every time I read a press release from Virgin with return to flying dates I would be rich lol

We are flying LHR-MCO on 14th July and still keeping everything crossed. It's a reward flight so can cancel very late, and all hotels cancellable a few days before. I don't care what we do there - 2 weeks of shopping/eating/swimming will be more than enough for us right now. Just to be there again would be amazing and breathe that humid Florida air! We have a 5 day Universal pass to use but will wait for another trip as don't want to walk round in masks all day. I would like to know if it will be cancelled though, so we have time to rebook for August or October. We will get there!

Fingers crossed for everyone, we're August. I think as long as the vaccine rollout keeps up the pace both here and in the USA 🇺🇸 we should be ok. 🤞🤞
