What's everyone else doing in regards to buying tickets?

We've got deposit on flights and villa for Oct but feel a bit uneasy buying tickets if there's no flexibility.
This must be UK specific because the T&Cs on the website says unused ticket prices can be used towards new tickets.

I went with the flex plus insurance with attraction tickets. I have had to peel off the little label on the back of the ticket to get the number to link my tickets on MDE in order to book park reservations. Just had a panic about still being able to cancel these tickets (if we are still not allowed in the US) if i've linked the tickets?

You can link the tickets without worry , they only actually activate when you do your first park entry

I was wondering this too. So, even if the tickets have been registered on MDE (and therefore can't be assigned to someone else) you'll still get a refund?

I was wondering what cancellation policy would be on these too. I assumed it was similar to booking dining / special events with disney and you could cancel up to 24 hrs before but I've never bought tickets for MNSSHP and MVMCP so i'm not sure how this works

As stated on ATD if Flexi plus ins taking out.

Full refund on non-activated tickets (Reserving Disney days on My Disney Experience does not activate tickets)

Thanks, I was concerned that registering them on MDE counted as activation.

Yes, for guests in the US or Canada, there's a different set of Ts&Cs and they can get their tickets modified or even refunded. See here for info:
disneyworld/experi...#modifications

However, for UK guests, a different set of Ts&Cs apply. Those only state what happened with 2020 tickets, which were automatically extended to September 2021.

Additionally, on the general UK Ts&Cs, it states:

"We do not give refunds for Ticket only Bookings".

"We shall not be responsible for any failure to use any ticket or loss of recreational opportunities due to limited availability, refurbishing, capacity, weather, special or premium events or any circumstances beyond our control, which includes Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances".

However, I'm sure some DIBBers have been told they can modify their UK tickets to a different year and pay the difference in price. This might be a goodwill gesture from Disney.
