I feel so sorry for all the young people who’ll have had two years worth of restrictions. I know it’s technically 18 months but I remember being young and we generally lived most of our lives during the summer months when we weren’t at collage/uni.

It’s such a rollercoaster! Not sure wether to pay and hope for the best or just cut our losses. The girls are set to loose about £80 each and I know it doesn’t sound much but to an 18 year old it’s a decent amount. Not sure what to do. 🤔 🤯 not just for Cyprus but for Florida too! 🤷🏻

Unfortunately the numbers in Cyprus have not been good but are slowly improving.
I would suggest waiting until the last possible moment before deciding but if I was 18 and looking to party I am not sure that the clubs and bars will be open.

That said we are going to Napa this weekend (it’s actually a nice resort, despite some historic bad press) from the other side of the Island where we live. I will try and get you some info on when there might expect to be a full reopening of clubs and bars.

Oh that would be so helpful thank you! I know what you say as we went to a wedding in Cyprus a few years ago and went into Napa and it’s a lovely resort. Until about 11pm that is. 😊

Not sure if this is a help or hinderance… here’s the latest vaccination percentages for Florida, Orange and Osceola County.

Florida

Population One Dose Fully Vaccinated
9,350,957 45.40% 34.74%

Population
Orange County 1,321,194 43.58% 33.37%
Osceola County 338,619 43.43% 32.25%

Given that a recent poll in Florida said that 20% would not have the vaccine and 17% were unsure... looks ok.

Definitely feels like the UK travel ban is redundant now. By August, it would be almost embarrassing if it was still in place if numbers stay on track 🤞

(2.52pm post)

Boris Johnson told Parliament today he is ‘working on a travel corridor with the US’. Hopefully in time for our August hols!
