Dining Plan first timer. Breakfast question
Hi. So we are staying at the Beach Club and have the 2 meal plan. Usually during the day we would have Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch or dinner would just be like a sandwich or similar. As you only get 2 meals what do you do for the other whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. Just 3 of us with a 8 year old girl. Would you just pay for breakfast maybe.
Thanks |

Guessing you're on the full DDP, with 1 x QS, 1x TS and 2 snacks per person, per day?
Is this your first time going? I know on paper it doesn't look like a lot and you couldn't possibly get by without paying OOP for food, but trust me - it's a LOT of food. We've never managed to spend all our credits, and that was when it was only 1 snack per day - AND we used lots of snacks on drinks and bottles of water etc! We did have breakfast in the room (cereal) some days though. I'd suggest you to get reading some DDP food reports to give you an idea of how people use their credits

We have found we use a snack for breakfast such as a pastry or fruit bowl, quick service lunch and saved our meal for evening on most days. Plenty of food and always have snacks to bring home. Everyone is different but rest assured it’s a lot of food.

If you look at QS menus, most things listed as either sides or "grab and go" items tend to be snack credit eligible. There will be exceptions but looking online, anything around the $6 mark or below will more than likely be a snack credit. When you're there, they'll have the purple DDP symbol next to them on the menu boards so it's very clear.
BC doesn't have the best QS to use as an example, but their breakfast menu actually has a snacks section - anything from there should be fine. Croissants, pastries, muffins, etc. If you head next door to YC or around the lake to the Boardwalk Bakery, there's better choices there. Also if you're having a QS dinner in the resort the night before, you can usually trade your drink entitlement (if you don't want it, since you have the resort mugs) for a snack item. Many people will grab a pastry or yoghurt and save it for breakfast the next day. Edited at 08:19 PM. |

That's all great advice. Thanks. I have been reading some reports but as it's our first time on the dining plan it's all a little confusing. Cheers.

It's up to you. You could have a full cooked breakfast (American style, pancakes, bacon, eggs, potatoes etc) at your resort some days if you want. Other days you might just want a pastry or a muffin.
We tended to have a bounty platter breakfast at our resort and then not bother with lunch as we were full till the evening. However, after a while all Disney breakfasts start to look the same! So we think next time we might get some breakfast bars to have in the room some days, and use our CS credit for lunch. As there are 3 of you and one is a child, you may not want 3 CS meals every time as they are quite large. So you could end up using just 2 credits for a CS meal. It's up to you how many credits you use and when.

You will have more than enough food on the DDP. When we go we use a snack credit to buy a pastry or croissant for breakfast and that was enough for us.

Have a read of this thread https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1011133
Also have a read of some dining reports to get an idea of what other have done regarding breakfast. |

Since you’re staying in the beach club, boardwalk bakery has a lovely selection of pastries/muffins for breakfast, a lovely stroll round there too
