If I could go to Florida or California tomorrow, then I would go tomorrow and regardless of all the Covid stats. I live my life to the full and beyond. That will never change. I remember during time with the Royal Marines that they had a motto of ‘Eat till your sick, drink till you drop’ within the Squadron. Whilst I have modified from this view, I have certainly never forgotten it as a generality in life.

Life is something to live, rather than something to hide yourself away from. The only transmitable illness that would make me reconsider that view is possibly Ebola. With that, the risk of death is simply too high.
I'm the same. Having narrowly survived two life threatening illnesses I want to live, not simply exist. If there was a plane going tomorrow I'd be on it.

I posted a few days ago the life changing 11 hours that I spent in May 2009. Not going to repeat it as it was just appropriate for me to say so at the time when the DIBB was in danger of sinking under doom and gloom. But never has an ICU looked so good.

Every new dawn brings a new promise to us. In fact when I was a guest in the ICU Joan put "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow" on my iPod (yes iPod )

Can't see any point in looking for the bad in everything every day. And we're still owed over £1,900 from Virgin Atlantic since 6 April.

No one can possibly know at this point, it is such a fluid situation.

There were many posts not so long ago saying Disney wouldn’t ‘risk’ opening in 2020 but that seems to be what they are planning on doing

Again, only a few weeks ago Matt Hancock was reported as saying ‘ALL summer holidays abroad are OFF’. Looks like some summer holidays will very much be ON.

It’s just such an ever changing situation, we can’t possibly know what will happen in a months time, let alone 6 months.

What’s sad is the obvious divide on these forums at the moment and the constant mocking of others who share a different view.

The USA seems to be on the second wave or still not fully at the peak of the first one so you wouldn’t want an air bridge until that’s over. but as we know a lot can change in a relatively short space of time.

Given the expected 2nd wave when the weather turns in October the end of this year may be optimistic!

Will be in interesting few months, should hear from oxford in the next 6 weeks about thier vaccine and how it’s getting on in Brazil and here.

And you can look at the facts and see that the cases in Florida are rocketing and nothing being done to stop them. Quite the reverse it seems. Plus people living there on this forum giving a perspective from living there day to day.
And world wide the cases are still rising.

There are two sides to everything.

But all it needs is for someone to spot a news item that says "may not allow" for the pessimists to go into overdrive.

The POTUS introduced the travel ban from UK, RoI and Schengen. The POTUS will remove it. Not any news agency.

Just to add that we will be there for Thanksgiving dinner at Bob Evans Posner Park as usual.

Then off to BBW for dessert

Wish I'd stayed away from the "August positivity" thread. Pessimists are winning

Indeed so but I doubt we'll last until Thanksgiving for our first trip.

It's always the same people wish there was an option to block them 🤔🤔 it's becoming just frustrating no one aloud to stay positive anymore its just ridiculous
