Paying a cleaner a retainer fee during lockdown

Would you pay your cleaner a 25% retainer during lockdown?

I paid our cleaner full fees during last lockdown. They really appreciated it, good cleaners are hard to come by so I felt it was worth it. Iíll do the same again if they canít work during this lockdown.

Can she not continue to work?. From gov.uk . . You can leave your home for work purposes, where your place of work remains open and where you cannot work from home (including if your job involves working in other peopleís homes)

I am the cleaner... I can and want to continue to work. I had a longstanding client tell me this morning that she wants to limit people in the house. That is absolutely fine.

I have asked her if she wishes for me to keep her slot free and if she says yes, then I was thinking about saying that I need to charge her a 25% retainer fee so i at least have a few £'s coming in.

If I was choosing not to have you in my home, but wanted you to be available when the situation changed and I changed my mind, I would have thought a 50% retainer was you being generous. 25% is more than fair.
