How long do magic bands last?

Is there a chance 2019 bands can be taken and reprogrammed and work?

I heard it will work for entrance and fast pass but memory maker wont!

I understand from reading other threads that you can use your magic band for more than one trip but the battery only lasts for 2 years.

Thank you. Can they be 'unlinked' and 'reprogrammed? My son would be taken mine from a previous trip, when he goes with his dad.

On the MDE. App it lists Magic bands issued and there is an option to activate/ deactivate each band, but I cannot see a way to allocate them to another persons name
I’m not sure that your child would be able to use a band issued in your name
