RM Signed for Delivery

Anyone had any recent experience with Royal Mail Signed Delivery
I sent my old UK passport back the other week, took 2 days 1st class
They then asked me to send my US passport to confirm I’m the same person as I’m a dual national, I did ring them to double check this as I didn’t have to do this before

Sent on Monday not delivered yet and I’m panicking
I tweeted them & they said after 10 days it’s gone missing 😩

Their delivery times say 1-3 days so it’s over that already
I suppose the saving grace that if some stupid idiot does steal my US passport 😬😩😢they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon 🇺🇸✈️😷

I have two claims pending for lost signed for items, one was a return to Amazon in Germany and the other 1st class to my bank. Posted on different days but neither has arrived weeks later.

Sent something to National Savings with Royal Mail signed for delivery. According to tracker it's still at the post office whereas in fact it had been delivered, actioned and returned to me, so don't believe the tracker.

Thanks
My tracker says it’s still at the Post Office, but the Passport Office do send an email when they receive it

Its terrible- my mum sent 3 separate items for my birthday all due to arrive same day- tracked- all showed thet had been delivered but not to me! Complaints in with royal mail who investigated and said there was no issues- I had to chase them as they were supposed to respond within 72 hours which they didn't. She sent a small thing 2 weeks ago and that over a week to arrive. Locally lots of issues with post going missing.

Recorded delivery really isn't worth the effort. If you need security it has to be Special delivery. Recorded delivery has no more protection than a certificate of posting, particuarly during these times where they don't get a signature anyway for recorded.

We had an order from Amazon coming by Royal Mail and got a tracking number which never updated. It was due on 23/4 but we found it on our doorstep on the 22/4. Yes a day earlier but it had taken 3 days to come with no updates a Yodel delivery took less than 24hrs from dispatch and was traceable throughout.

Local post office told me this last week.

If you have anything you want to ensure delivered you need * special delivery*...not cheap but it goes along a different route and guaranteed delivery the next day. All other supposed better services like recorded delivery just go in the sack with all other post.
