How busy Universal end Sept?

Hi
We are looking at Universal hotels for 3 nights end Sept. We've always been in August previously so stay at one of the 3 original hotels to make use of the FP's...but if the parks are not likely to be as rammed as they are in Aug we are considering Sapphire Falls instead because its so much cheaper?
Has anyone got any educated guesses/ advice on how busy end Sept is likely to be?

I’ve always managed absolutely fine without the express passes in September. A lot of the time I’ve commented how much I’d have felt I’d have wasted my money.
You’ll get a few things with a bit of a wait, but if you’re in early enough you should be ok. Weekends might be different though

You may need to be aware of the impact of Halloween Horror Nights which will reduce your time in the Studios on a HHN day.

Quiet Monday to Thursday. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest followed by Sunday’s. We found late Sunday afternoons to be very quiet with all the locals going home early

We always go around this time and the parks aren’t to bad, never need express passes, however do be mindful of Halloween horror nights dates, as they do impact park attendance and also park hours . We always attend these so stay in the parks prior to US closing to the gener al,public.

Did Universal in September a couple of years ago (before escaping Florida 2 days early to avoid hurricane Irma). The Universal parks were quiet - September is a slow month.

Some friends who I met out there did Magic Kingdom one day & get on everything they wanted (all the main rides) & were joining us on I-Drive for dinner by 8pm.

We always go in September because it's one of the quietest months of the year. I've never needed an express pass at Universal though! Horror nights is on most weeks though so that may impact the attendance at weekends.

It might be worth bearing in mind it might be busier this year with people who haven’t been able to get there with all the restrictions. Let’s hope we all get there this year xx
