Great idea to keep it and repurpose it.

Good job it's just for washing your hands in! Toilet is on the other wall, not fully plumbed in yet and a small room so hard to take a photo of!

Could you get your backside in that bowl?! 😜

That looks lovely, and great that you can keep the shelf. I love projects keeping original features. Never been able to do it myself but enjoy looking! Wouldn't the oak loo seat match the shelf under the basin? Beware as black might mark/go cloudy whiten with strong loo cleaner!

I know they are shades of the old outside loo but those high level tanks are so iconic. Plus as chrome nowadays is rubbish yours will be fine as it's only a loo and not part of a bathroom so wont get any condensation on it and then rust.

Nice, I like it.

I'm concerned that the oak we have is very light but the shelf and window sill were stained Jacobean oak (I think) and is quite a lot darker. I will get it out and have a look at them though. Our idea was a black seat because we'd seen a high cistern with a black seat which sold us the idea. At £1,600.00 it stayed where it was though!
