Disney common price AP upgrade
Hi !
Trying to plan money for a trip in 3 weeks and we want to upgrade from the 14 days unlimited to an platinum annual pass. With so many diff prices flying around it’s so hard to plan money! What is the most common price people have seen? £350 ? But want a ball park number to save! Don’t want to be a long way out when planking our daily budgets Thanks ! |

Disney told me £331 online, even though I bought them for £399 Direct from them. HS is consistently the best price.

Jonny they told me that it was the Wholesale price wasn't overly happy since I'd paid more than that to buy Direct from them! The problem stems from the fact that they don't have an equivalent ticket in the US, the best prices seem to come when they "bridge" the ticket as opposed to whatever the other ones have been doing!

Thanks ! I’ve heard about ‘bridging’ it’s just how do you ask them to do it without being cheeky!
Fingers crossed for me in a few weeks ! |

Is that the cost to upgrade (as per the OP's question), or the value of your ticket?
The prices (after tax) of the Platinum Pass (no waterparks) and Platinum Plus Pass (includes waterparks) are as follows: Platinum Pass = $904 Platinum Plus Pass = $1011 The price to upgrade is the difference in price between your 14-day Ultimate ticket and the above costs. The current official price of the 14-day ticket is £379, which is $485 at the current exchange rate (which, of course, can change from day to day). Therefore, you'd expect to pay approximately the following: Cost to upgrade to Platinum Pass = $419 (about £330) Cost to upgrade to Platinum Plus Pass = $526 (about £410) However, the value they assign to your ticket seems to vary considerably. Supposedly, Disney use the amount that was paid by the vendor to Disney for the value of the ticket. This will usually be less than the amount you paid for the ticket (so you lose out!) and will vary from person to person - there's no common amount. Having said that, it also seems to vary depending on which member of staff you ask. Some of them seem to work out the value differently, perhaps "bridging" the UK ticket to the closest US ticket, as mentioned above. Therefore, it's very variable. Use the above upgrade costs as a rough estimate but be prepared to pay more or less.

I think $350 to upgrade is a bit optimistic. It could happen, but I'd be prepared for more like $450 to upgrade.
My estimates above assume that Disney value your 14-day ticket at the current price and not the vendor price. If they use the vendor price, then the cost to upgrade will be more than the numbers I provided.

Nimbus that was what they were valuing my current pass at as we were considering upgrading to cover next year's holiday as well.
