I once wrapped a phone for my son like this:
Wrap the phone in its little box, place in a bigger box and wrap that box, place that wrapped box into an even bigger box, place wrapped box into another box... You get the idea 🤣🤣 It was brilliant, each time he opened a box and looked inside he got more confused and more excited ! |

I made a sweetie bouquet with my daughters favourites and his the phone within that. Took her ages to realise she actually got the phone she had hoped for!

My husband once his his sisters Christmas present inside a box of tissues, so she would find it when she took out the first tissue, she was so angry with his 'tight fisted' present she threw it in the bin her husband (who luckily was in on the joke) had to fish it out the bin.

My mother-in-law wraps even modest presents in crazy ways - she'll use things like cup-a-soup boxes, cereal boxes, shoe boxes and ever larger boxes inside each other.
It can take 5 or 6 levels of unwrapping before you finally get to the gift inside. |

I'd go for the wrap it in several boxes idea, if she sees a large box under the tree she wont realise that it could be a phone. We did this once with an ipad for our son, if we had just wrapped the box he probably would have guessed what it was.
