Sounds fantastic! We are hoping to rebook our west coast trip to June, just a bit too scared to book anything at the moment!

We had this when March was cancelled and we opted for August. On both occasions it was simple to get back a total of 26 separate purchases (they soon add up).

Covid? I am not interested. I have had it, got over it and have the antibodies.

This will be booked in exactly the same way as the other two attempts.. if I can’t go, I get my money back.
I will only buy from reputable retailers who have clearly been identified over the past 6 months. None of my money will be entrusted to a bearded tax exile hippy or any company associated with him who acted neither honestly or with integrity whilst blatantly breaking the laws designed to protect consumers.. I owe that to those who have had such struggles to get their money back.

I am on the lookout for flights for next August after not being able to go last month. I want LHR-LAS on 11th August and LAX to LHR on 29th August. I can move the dates if needed, this year we would have gone into September and I wonder if that might bring flight prices down.

Good luck. We are still holding on to December allbeit I’m pretty sure we won’t be going. We have to hang on though to decide what we will replace it with and when as we had plans with family next summer, so waiting for them to decide what they want to do.
Looks like an amazing trip

Those flights are on the BA site already. BA seem unusually sharp priced right now (hence my purchasing without waiting for everybody else to offer on the 330 day mark).

Having said that, I have been researching on a daily basis for many weeks and placing it on a grid. The prices have shown little or no movement since issue.

What I do know is that the prices that drew me today on BA are better than anything I have seen on search engines or airlines for the months of Easter, June and July. By waiting, I feel that I was going to see no great drop in price, but am aware that the Dollar has gone from 1.34 to 1.28 in the last week or so. That must impact eventually on prices.

Our flights are 3k for 3 adults right now! We were booked with BA for this year and would have booked again if the price was right but also holding fire for a bit and crossing my fingers!

That is silly money. I would be aiming sub £500pp in economy.

If you were to reverse it and do LAX first and on 10 August, returning from Las Vegas on 1 Sept, then you can get £662pp with hold baggage, free seat selection at 24 hrs out etc.

You did say that you could be flexible on dates!

Do your plans involve SFO? If you are doing some sort of loop over the period of the vacation, then that might make sense. It could also make sense to fly in to SFO and then use an internal flight into LAX.. San Luis Obispo or wherever suits you best. Those internals can be really great value.

They can. We quite often make up parts of our trip as we go along and, checking email confirmations, we booked a flight from Long Beach to San Francisco on 20th August 2018 to fly on the 25th. We were already out in California midway though our holiday when we made this booking.

Even booking this late, it only cost us $368 for four people including hold baggage.

There are quite a few airports around LA, and many of them have numerous flights a day to pretty much everywhere you'd like to go, so if you can be slightly flexible on airport and time (ie flying in the middle of the day when commuters won't be using flights) you can fly for next to nothing.
