our house was built in 1904, lovely red sandstone with big bay window. According to the deeds a police constable with the same surname as us lived in it in the 1930's which is weird as hubby is also a police officer! We recently had the sandstone work cleaned and fixed and the neighbours who had done the same had dug into the history of the 4 houses in our row as they wanted the house name on the building and informed us that our home used to be called Brookeville - again weird as we had our 4th child once we moved here and she is called Brooke!

Our house here in Florida was built in the late 80's. Our neighborhood is actually one of the oldest in this part of Kissimmee. It was all orange groves around here not that long ago.

Our UK house was built in the 60's but on the site of the old village forge and made to look much older with old brick etc. Our side of the road was mainly workers cottages for the local manor house. There is even an old shared wash house at the back of some. They go for fortunes now because it just outside London. Definitely alot more history there than this part of Florida. Henry the VII even stayed in the manor in the next village.

1931, I love new builds just for the new ideas, but ours is solid and well built. Our DD was built in the 1890’s, it’s a small terrace when I think a two bedroom terrace with outside loo, was for a couple of families and it’s cramped with just her and her son.

Ours is a 16th century barn that we have recently converted. Was a labour of love for DH, he's done it now, so it's now currently in the sale process.

Ours is a Victorian farmhouse built in 1886; it has some of the original features, e.g. fireplace and raised floor in the front sitting room, different levels everywhere so we step down into the kitchen and upstairs bathroom- this was an extension added in the early 1900s, and we have big huge windows in all of the rooms which is a bit of a nightmare- our bedroom has 3 big windows which makes storage a challenge!

This is my first period house and our 9th house in 22 years of marriage. We have built a house, extended a house and renovated many- this is our last main home and is a work in progress. I hope to eventually buy a place in Norfolk on the coast and a villa in the states or, worst-case scenario Spain... it's good to have dreams!
