Thanks, she got the all clear nearly a year ago. I did it all online, didn’t need to call them - think we opted for the Gold or Platin7m just so all costs covered.

Well - that was easy!
I have now finished radiotherapy - I wanted to wait until treatment had finished to call our insurance - which is through our bank account to inform them of my diagnosis and subsequent treatment/surgery for Breast Cancer. I have to admit I was dreading making the call - but it was actually very easy, just answered a few questions and all covered for the trip in October 2019 as I was unaware of the diagnosis when I booked the trip in May 2018 for travel in October 2019. I have been asked about subsequent trips and if I want to exclude breast cancer from cover moving forward or add it for a cost - I declined this as I would want to shop around for future trips - taking advice from Dibbers on their experiences, but very relieved at how easy it was to inform them. Phew!

Hi Mick
Thank you so much for your help - whilst this trip is sorted I will be shopping around for future trips - so I will give Boots a try, really never would have thought about even trying before - so thank you again. Katie

Gadgey Mick - Boots underwriters (TIF Group) was on the ball for me when I ended up in Cape Coral hospital, unfortunately they now won't cover hubs for long stay so it'll be back to Just Travel. We've even contemplated him taking 2 x 3 months of cover, he'd flying back to the UK and then return to Fl with a further 3 month cover.
Re your Boots quote, have either of you hit 75? It tends to rise when you hit 70, then 75 and so on. That may explain the £1220. Hubs paid c£1600 last winter, looking at c£5,500 for this winter's 180 day cover. If you're surfing Gadgey, try Go Walk About and Just Travel too, you never know. Our insurer of choice was Go Walk until they stopped long stay cover for hubs.

When I found out I BC I had a fly cruise booked ,so my treatment was fitted round the cruise . Had my op 3 weeks before cruise , I was told it was fine to go but not to do any swimming, started my Radiotherapy on my return from holiday . I have insurance with my bank but decline to be covered for BC .Don’t intend to book holidays too advanced . Except I have a Disney holiday booked for next year , as it’s only a small deposit to pay and they are very good with changing dates about.
