DDP August 2016 - sort of live

Hi all

This is my first dining report and we landed here yesterday. It's me and my BF but my family are out here too and I'm sure their food will feature as well.

We are staying for two weeks with the standard dining plan and I've called this sort of live as I know I won't remember to update this every day.

Travel Day

Landed early and decided to go to D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs. BF and I are big burger fans and fancied this since they announced it, and when they announced it was a QS credit we decided it was going to be our first meal.

Here is the menu

When your on the dining plan your able to have a burger, a soft drink and either a small fries or macaroon you can't have both.

We both went for the Barbecue Classic Burger without the Gouda

This was delicious, the burger was thicker than we were expecting. The fries were good and crispy.

They give you a lot of dipping sauces I didn't try these but BF did and liked most of them.

I'd read in a few reviews about having to wait a long time, we did queue for about 5 minutes and then waited around 10 for food, not too bad but it was early on a Monday night. The only thing BF commented on was his burger was salty, I didn't notice it at the start but towards the end it was noticeable. Not an issue for either of us.

We really want to go back during the trip but not sure if we will have time.

Looks a nice burger!

Is there somewhere to sit and eat inside or are there only tables outside?

We are going to try Blaze, they tweeted that they are a QS credit the other day so we are excited to go there, walked past it after trying D-Luxe and it smelt really good

Day 1 Crystal Palace

For breakfast we went to Crystal Palace, we'd been here last year on our first day and really enjoyed. It's a character breakfast where you can meet Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore and the food is a buffet.

We really enjoyed the meal, I really like Poohs Puffed French toast, but the highlight for me was the omelet, I had cheese and mushroom. BF Really enjoyed the smoked sausage.

There is pancakes, poohs puffed French toast, mickey waffle, bacon and sausage.

Croissant, smoked sausage, sausage, bacon and bagels. we usually make bacon bagels whilst at the buffet, but they've changed the bagels here to mini ones.

My cheese and mushroom omelette

BF tried a biscuit but didn't like it, he said it was really salty.

We also finished off with some bananas and strawberries.

Really good food and the characters are great too. We had a 8:20 reservation and the characters came round twice as the restaurant isn't too full at that time

Starbucks Snack Credit

We stopped off at the main street bakery for a Venti vanillas bean creme frappuccino.

These are really good.

Rainforest Cafe - Animal Kingdom

This is a first night tradition for us , we really enjoy the food here.

BF and I both order the same, the steak, ribs and shrimp combo and he gets my ribs and I get his shrimp.

(Sorry about the half eaten shrimp forgot to take a photo, I also forgot to take photos of my family's food. We were all starving by this point and I don't think I would have managed to keep everyone fROM digging in)

For dessert we had a volcano and two mango sorbets, when your on the DDP you can order the volcano but it takes three dessert credits as there were 5 of us not a problem.

BF also ordered a Coronaita, a frozen lime margarita with a bottle of Corona in.

Really enjoyed the meal and as we have a few credits we haven't got reservations for, we might be back here soon.
