Medical Condition / DAS

Hi Guys,

Just look'n for a little advice about medical conditions and DAS cards (and other park equivalents). I have a non-apparent medical condition (Crohns) which makes it difficult for me to queue for a long time. I've had a few issues previously when I've needed to leave and rejoin a queue - I've found not all cast members to be accommodating in letting me back in to my family. For anyone who has experience - do you think a DAS card would be something I would qualify for? Any additional information would be gratefully received..!

Thanks in advance,
DisDubs

Hi

You will definitely qualify. I have ulcerative colitis and when we went in 2017 I had the DAS and equivalent in US.

You just go to guest services and explain the condition and why it causes difficulty queuing and they give it to you for the length of your visit.

In Disney I used it on my magic band and would get a return time for me and my family which I think was usually the queue time minus 10 mins. This is in addition to the fast passes.

In universal it was a card and they write down a return time on the card. Most lines there were only around 30 mins and most they just let us straight in. You go into the fast pass lane.

The special needs board on here also has a lot of info

Hope that helps ☺️

No one knows mate.
You have to explain why ur disability makes standing in line hard for u.
(So i have crowd anxiety and this is silly hard for me.)
You could explain u need to wait in the shade or have access to a toilet?
They will then decide if the das or aap will help u (aap at usf)
Due to abuse nothing is certain any longer just know they cant ask for proof (you can offer it but i ve never had it read iyswim)
Hth im sure wiser people will be able to help more xx

Do all members of the party then get to board without queuing?

Up to six people could be on the card last time we used one.

As for whether anyone gets a card, it seems to be a matter of luck which CM you get. I've had most trouble in Universal; sometimes they give a card to my son; sometimes not. When not, we've had to leave the park fairly rapidly.

Good luck

EC

My daughter recently went with her friend who has colitis and recently was fitted with a colostomy bag and got a disability pass at disney without problem. At universal the lady told them to buy an express pass to avoid long queues. She finally relented seeing ‘there were only two of them’
My daughters friend had letters from the doctors etc but They got the feeling that the universal person didn’t believe they were genuine because the girl involved is only 19.
