Possible issues with St Thomas

I was reading an article earlier that states that Royal Caribbean have cancelled 6 stops at St Thomas and that it’s expected that Disney will follow suit.

It’s something political so not too sure on the details as the article was vague but I’m wondering what happens in the event that Disney pulls this stop too.

How much notice would we be given for a change?

I have zip lining booked for St Thomas, just added it in Tortola so I’ll need to cancel one. How long before do I need to cancel without charge?

I’ve been following this and does seem overtly political in that there have been sackings and dodgy appointments at the port authority and tourism board. Some cruise lines are not in favour - mainly those that use the Crown Bay terminal. Cruise lines that use the Havensight terminal seem unaffected.
I can’t comment on Disney specifically, but they will, in all likelihood, put in a substitute port. If you really want to do zip lining, you are best to keep your banker ie Tortola.
To be honest, I can’t see a spat like this lasting for a long time as it’s in no one’s interest - but may not be resolved by the time you go.

DCL use Havensight Terminal.

Cruise lines don't have to give you any notice at all, which is why our insurance always has 'cancelled ports' and 'refunds on excursions' on it.

Thanks for clarifying- it’s all a bit odd as the Disney Fantasy is scheduled to dock several times over the next few months according to the USVI port website.

Yep, she goes there every fortnight. DCL will change things if they need to, but all the time it's not an issue for them, they'll stick with it I'm sure.

DCL likes to stick to tried & true ports, to a fault, so I don't see them ditching St. Thomas for something like this.

It kind of is ... we have an incurable illness that causes us to book cruises too much! it's an addiction for sure.
