Which Beach?

Hello Dibbers,

We are going to LA for the fourth time in September. This time we are spending full 14 days in LA. On our last trips we have never had time for a beach visit as we have only stayed a few days.
So which beach, Long beach, Santa Monica, Venice? We are not sitting on the beach type of people, so need plenty to see and do.

We initially had Long Beach on our list but changed it to Redondo Beach and really liked it. Venice Beach and Santa Monica are very close to each other so you could visit both.

You could take a nice drive up to Malibu, many beaches up there and nice restaurants. What do you want to do at the beach, are you looking for a nice walk/jog or water sports or one that’s in an area with other things to do? With 14 nights I’d go up to Santa Barbara or down to Laguna on a day trip, very picturesque beach towns. I’d even consider heading out to Catalina Island for the day. I don’t really rate Long Beach, it’s a bit industrial.

Enjoy!
