Buy here or buy there (Vegas)

Thinking of doing Vegas helicopter flight to GC so is it better to buy here or buy there. Partner not to keen so I do half day with Dolphins for her and I just do the flight .

When we did it a few years ago it was no cheaper to do book it there than here, so we pre-booked it before we travelled. May have even been slightly more to do it at one of the booths compared to online.

Advisable to do it earlier in your LV stay in case there are weather issues (fog can ground them even in the summer) or technical issues meaning the need to re-schedule.

Assuming you are doing one from Vegas to the west coast, you can do one which just fly's over (goes over the Hoover Dam as well) or one that lands for 20 minutes and you have a light smack and photo opportunity on the canyon floor. More expensive, but recommend the landing option.

I would also go on one of the earlier ones so you are not on the floor at the hottest part of the day. West rim is not at the elevation of the south so is still hot. Sunset one would also be nice to do I would have thought.

Different companies go from different locations as well. They all do hotel pick ups as well.

As we were doing ours early and then planned to drive to the Hoover Dam after, we selected one of the Maverick flights that went from Boulder City airport and drove ourselves there. Other options are Mcarran or Henderson airports. Papillion, Maverick, Sundance we the main 3 that seemed to operate from the Vegas area.

We booked before we went as we were actually quite scared of being in a helicopter so figured that way we would have to do it .

We did the sunset trip which was spectacular, flew back over the strip after dark. Limo from and back to hotel. We booked with Papillon and couldn’t fault them.
