Sequoia Lodge Pool Closure
Advice wanted please!
We are off to DLP for 5 days at the start of August. It'll be myself, my partner and my step son (4). We had purposely booked Sequoia Lodge as we liked the theming and the pool looked fun (small slide, waterfall etc). I've just had an email through from Magic Breaks to share that the planned pool closure at Sequoia Lodge has been extended now for an extra month till the end of August. Hugely disappointed as we had booked such a long break so we could have that relaxing time in the afternoons at the pool. They do say that you can use the pool at Newport Bay and I know it's pretty close but I'm still disappointed. It's my family's first experience of Disney and I want it to be as perfect as possible. Does anyone think there is any merit in sending an email directly to DLP or Magic Breaks to share my disappointment? Thanks in advance |

Excited about Disney

Hi there,
I feel your pain: https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...highlight=pool We did email but got the generic "thanks for your understanding" reply. I'm not overly happy but decided not to let it bug me, as I have other stresses at the moment. I feel they really should compensate us for the inconvenience despite what others might say...

Same here. My Mum's first and possibly only time going to DLP, and she chose the hotel partly because of that pool, too.
It's not even worth looking to upgrade to NPB because the offer isn't the same and we'd lose our free half board, and pay quite a lot more. I'd factored in her and my niece popping for a swim early one morning, but I doubt she'd trot over to Newport Bay Club for that. 🤷 |

It sure is annoying, but unfortunately as with all travel companies Disney and Magic Breaks will be covered to their eyeballs in terms and conditions that will mean there is little you can do.
Do take some comfort in the fact that Newport Bay is close by, and actually has a much bigger outdoor pool than Sequoia Lodge which will be nice during August. You will be having such an amazing time at Disney it will fade into insignificance once you are there. Have a magical trip |

I just emailed to ask if there's any way to find out if there is availability at the pool before we head over.
Mum has Rheumatoid arthritis, and I'd rather not get her to walk over there if she then can't use the pool. That's really the main issue. 🤷 We shall see. X |
